STATUS
In-Production
In the fast-paced environment of an Afrohouse rave, every second counts. Quee lets party guests request songs from the DJ and tip them while the set is live.
I worked across strategy and UI/UX to design Quee, a tipping and request tool that functions seamlessly in low-light, high-energy settings. The result is a smooth, real-time bridge between the audience's desires and the DJ's performance.
PROBLEM STATEMENT

Quee is a simple tool that lets guests request a song or tip the dj for the vibes.
DJs get a clean request queue they can manage while staying focused on their set.

WHAT WE DID
We structured he onboarding flow to segment users early
Upon opening the app, users are prompted to sign up and choose their account type: DJ or guest.
Each of this user group gets a personalize each experience from onboarding through to the core action; sending and receiving song requests.

Wireframing to sketch out the main flow for guests and DJs
For guests, the goal was speed. We wanted them to open the app, find a DJ, and send a request without overthinking it.
For DJs, we focused on control. Their screens had to work mid-set, with the least amount of effort and no distractions.
CREATING THE LOOK
Quee feels bold, fun, but clean
We used a dark background with bright accents to help the app feel natural in nightlife settings.
Contrast was key. We designed Quee to be easy to use in low light, with bold text, large buttons and clear cues that help users move quickly through the flow.
In designing UI cards and layouts, We borrowed patterns from music apps that people already use and trust to make the app feel familiar.

HOW QUEE WORKS
DJ needs to view the details of a request in a glance
Incoming requests are shown as cards with a clear song title, artist, and fee.
DJs can accept or decline with one tap. Accepted requests move to a separate list that is quick to glance at anytime.

The guest home is built around a simple search. and action flow
Guests can search for DJs actively playing and start the request flow.
Moving from search to request to completing payments in as few steps as possible.

The goal was to let tipping feel like a natural part of engaging with the dj, not a forced step
To tip on Quee, guests can either go to a DJ’s profile and use the gift button or include a tip when sending a song request as part of the DJ’s set fee.

DJs can see what they've earned and when it will be available,
A wallet icon is always accessible from the profile, so DJs can check their balance anytime without breaking flow.
The wallet screen prioritizes a clear view of payouts time and history.
TAKEAWAYS
The request queue gave DJs a simple way to manage requests without pulling focus from their set and The guest flow made interaction feel natural, not forced. Tipping and payouts were kept lightweight to maintain trust and flow.
This project also sharpened my ability to design around both behavior and energy. The UI had to support what was happening in the room, not just on the screen. That’s a perspective I want to keep bringing into future products.
